Baker Rural District July 2023 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD JULY 6, 2023 AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke, Treasurer; Dick Chester, Trustee; Chris Meccage, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
ABSENT: Chairman; Turk Stark
Motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the June 1, 2023 meeting by Dick. The motion was 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
Tom reported that Unit #420 was back from Glendive and #424 was back at Turk’s.
The budget meeting with the commissioner’s last month they said for next years budget would replace the funds of $150,000.00 the Rural Fire District. These funds were going to pay for part of the 6th street project. The commissioner’s have since talked to the board and noted the county will be paying for that portion and the fire board will no longer be responsible for those funds. The water line project is now complete and the blacktop hopes to start in August.
NEW BUSINESS:
Dick mentioned in the wash bay how the lights or on the ceiling and when you are trying to wash the trucks you do not have very good lighting. After some discussion the board asked if Dick could talk to Direct Electric about getting an estimate for new lights on the side walls. The new lights would be LED.
This next week the ladder truck will be getting the inspection from UL.
Tom mentioned there will be Driving Training next Wednesday July 12, 2023 at 6:00. He also mentioned the Command vehicle would be going to Glendive for some recall service to be done.
There have been some parents asking Tom about having a day for the youth to come tour the fire hall. Tom set this up for July 15th at 10:00. Anyone is welcome to come and help with the tour.
The Steak fry for the Fireman will be this month the last Wednesday July 26th at 6:00.
Fred made the motion to pay the bills. Chris 2nd the motion.
