Baker Rural District May 2023 Meeting
THE REGULAR SCHEDULED BAKER RURAL DISTRICT MEETING WAS HELD MAY 10, 2023 AT 7:00 P.M. AT 8254 HIGHWAY 12 IN THE RURAL DISTRICT OFFICE.
PRESENT: Chairman; Turk Stark, Treasurer; Dick Chester; Trustee; Chris Meccage, Trustee; Fred Hoff, Fire Chief; Tom Bruha, Secretary; Stephanie Croy
ABSENT: Vice Chairman; Randy Hoenke
Motion was made to approve the presented minutes of the April 6, 2023 meeting by Chris. The motion was 2nd by Fred. Motion carried. All Aye.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Def System has been removed from Unit #424 in Glendive and is now back in service. Unit #420 is now in Glendive.
Chris mentioned his truck Unit #415 there was a leak on the pump gas tank. He has the leak fixed and all is working great.
NEW BUSINESS:
City of Baker made the ladder truck payment. The board also received a dividend check from Farmers Union. They are having them both deposited into appropriate accounts.
Tom had a part that Darin Buerkle was needing for a fire apparatus Dean Wang has on the ranch. Darin made a donation for the part of $200. He was appreciative of Tom giving him the part.
Tom brought it before the board the parking lot was needing some maintenance work done last month. Board told Tom to look into Top Gun. Tom talked to Top Gun and had an estimate of $13,000 for the blacktop part of the parking lot. There was some discussion about the cement needing resealed in the seams. Tom called Top Gun, said he would look at the cement seams and get us an estimate. Dick made the motion to sign the current estimate. Motion was 2nd by Chris. Motion carried. All Aye.
The renewal for the Accident and Sickness for the fire department insurance is due.
Fred made the motion for the $75,000 transfer to Capital Projects. Dick 2nd the motion. Motion carried. All Aye.
Tom mentioned the relighting of the South Tower. In the last heavy rain, the lights were lost.
Dick made the motion to pay the bills. Chris 2nd the motion.

Being there no further business to come before the board. Dick made the motion to adjourn the meeting. Fred 2nd the motion. Motion Carried. All Aye. Meeting adjourned at 8:29 P.M.
